When someone doesn't want to have their opens/clicks/actions tracked, allow them to opt out of this element without opting out from the list entirely. This will give users a clear option if they want to opt out of tracking, whilst enabling organisations to gather data on those who are happy to remain opted in. At the moment, if a user doesn't want to have their actions tracked, they have to unsubscribe from the list entirely. This doesn't work for certain mailing lists where you're required to communicate with users for legal reasons.
How will this idea be used?
A list similar to the master suppression list will be created by opting out of tracking which will override settings at the mailing level to allow for UK GDPR and PECR compliance. |
