It would make debugging so much easier if clicking on a data job from the Recurring Jobs tab, which currently brings you to the Settings for that job, also let you easily browse the historical instances of that job running, by most recent first. There's no way to do this right now, and the existing Data Jobs historical run view makes it difficult to find instances of a job running. Say the Job is named "JobA" - I have to Cmd+F "JobA", keep loading more, and scroll past all our job runs for other jobs. It's very cumbersome, especially if the job I'm looking at doesn't run frequently, and I need to just look at its most recent run.
How will this idea be used?
As a data engineer monitoring and troubleshooting data import jobs, being able to view the past job runs for just the job I've clicked on only, will allow me to find and debug data import job errors and their details faster. |
