Today, we can use "Scoring alerts" to send email messages in real-time when a web form is submitted, a download is made or a score is reached. However, when you try to send the same alert everytime a new user enters a program, the alert takes around 4-24hours to be sent to a specific email address.
The ideia is to let other people know when a customer entered a geofence (when a customer has arrived in the city or is getting closer to your hotel/store) and is possibly going to your direction. So, you can be prepared and leverage the Experience with your company.
Think about a Hotel front-desk/recepction getting an email letting them know that a customer is arrinving soon? They could antecipate his check-in process, receive the customer at the front door, etc.
