Databases uploaded to WCA's FTP are these large text files wich benefit a lot from compression.

Usually, the compress rate for these files are from 70% to 85%, that means that a 1GB file would be compressed to 250MB, and would take 1/4 of the time to upload.

That would save a lot of time and data usage.
