I was directed to enter this complaint here instead of keeping my Case open in Support until it is resolved. The idea being that if more customers complain about a given issue, then they may get attention so that their issues can be resolved.
Well, here goes:
We have users that need Reporting Only access so that they can pull reports from our Transact POD3 Org. They are not able to view Automated Messages reports in the Report Center. (We want them to be consistent visually with our POD1 reports.) Transact POD3 mailings are all set up as Automated Messages in our Org.
Support told us that we can use the "Work Around" of setting them up as Standard users and taking the time to modify their permissions to limit what they can do or see.
It is frustrating and disappointing that we need to perform a "Work Around" when it is possible to fix the product so that it functions as it should be. (If it can work for the Standard user type, then it should be able to work for the Reporting Only user type.)
All that we ask is that the product we pay for should work reliably and efficiently. Enhancements and new ideas are wonderful, but not at the expense of the functionality that provides us with what we need on a daily basis. So far, the enhancements that have been rolled out do not offer viable replacements to the every day needs that we have.
