When TMS detects that the local copy of a configuration item is out of date, it asks for permission to re-load this information:
"Configuration was modified outside of TMS on the following server(s):
Servernnn.MyCompany.com
Reload configuration from externally modified version?"
This is unnecessarily tedious, the answer is generally "Yes", and the editing must be re-tried after the load. It would save time if the TMS Config Actions area had a persistent Auto-Load check box... giving permission to reload automatically when the config item is opened.
This small change would be particularly helpful when a large number of config items / servers must be reviewed.
How will this idea be used?
This change will save time when large numbers of configuration items must reviewed or changed. It would also make the interface more intuitive and user friendly. |
