Back in the fall of 2020, acoustic engineers helped us enable Tealeaf Capture in Azure cloud via a virtual gue tunnel interface (https://developers.redhat.com/blog/2019/05/17/an-introduction-to-linux-virtual-interfaces-tunnels#gue). This continues to work great.
In order to do this, they had to modify the listend (and possibly pipelined) components of the standard PCA build (PCAv2 3741-30, kernel Linux 5.7.12-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64, RHEL7).
Our sites are now migrating to data centers where these tunnel interfaces will be the only means by which we can capture website traffic. We therefore need to ensure that the engineers' modifications/features are part of the PCA packages going forward, so we can deploy and upgrade as needed.
How will this idea be used?
Enable Tealeaf Capture in virtual environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) where capture cannot depend on physical NICs. |
