When working with an existing advanced mode event, there is no way to find the event, hit attribute, or step attribute that an internal name refers to. Allowing for search to return matches in both internal and display names would help resolve this issue.

An additional improvement on this would be to display the object's Display Name when hovering over the internal name in the Advanced Event editor.
